Beer
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 11:51 AM Yes. I'm a big fan. Nothing beats a Steinlager, but a Corona with a slice of lime in the summer will do and I prefer Heineken in the winter. Said beverages are a touch more expensive here in Korea but far more superior to Korea's domestic brews, in particular Cass and Hite which I find tantamount to drinking cat piss brown coloured water.
I have yet to try North Korea's flagship lager Taedonggang. Starting in 2002 The North has brewed Taedonggang in a plant aquired from a British brewery which they literally pulled apart, shipped to Korea and reassembled.
Apparently it was available in South Korea for a time and people have said it is more robust and better than your typical Asian beer (see comment above). The New Zealand Herald has coverage here, and the Wikipedia page is here.
