    That Was Chuseok (추석)

And there was much giving of thanks to the ancestors, the weeding of graves and offerings of foodstuffs.

Well somewhere in Korea there was. I can't say there was much going on in my household, despite the best laid plans of mice, and this man. Enough said about that, it makes me angry.

So after my Friday night plans were altered, I had a particularly boozy evening at the Casino in Samsung-dong. Taking into account the number of free Jack and Cokes, I walked away from that ahead of the game.

Saturday was thus a bit of a write-off, but I headed for Jamsil in the early evening for a dinner of Dakgalbi (닥갈비) with a good friend - always a good hangover cure. That was washed down with some good conversation, a bottle of J&B and some ice cream to finish.

Sunday was thus a bit of a write-off, but I managed to clean my bathroom and call me mum in New Zealand, wishing her the best of Chuseoks (!) and catching up on the family gossip.

Monday, usually fraught with danger any other week was very pleasant. Despite spending most of the day in my pajamas (and might I add, catching up on my readings for 'varsity) I went for a walk along the stream that fronts the sewage plant opposite my officetel, and enjoyed the early autumn sunshine. In preparation for The Force Unleashed, PS3 game heading my way via UPS on Wednesday, I rewarded my earlier scholarliness with a Star Wars marathon of episodes I - III before sliding into bed early on Tuesday morning,

Today, like Monday, has been most productive, again with much academia, and also catching up with Andy and his wife for a bit of a chin-wag and lunch.

I'm looking forward to the shortened week, which should prove most productive, despite quite a bit of pressure with up coming observations and extra classes.

That was my Chuseok. What did you do!?
