(Another) Honourable Mention

This time YONAHP - Korea's wire service - gives me some play over comments made in this post regarding Visit Korea Year 2010-2012 (Go see the post as to a discussion of the logic regarding how one year is 2010-2012).

  뉴질랜드 출신 국내 블로거인 스테포드 럼스든씨도 블로그(stafford.squarespace.com)에서 "담당 기관인 '한국방문의 해 위원회'에 편지를 보내 오류를 지적했다"며 "위원회 웹사이트(www.visitkorea.com)에 실린 '그린 앤 휴먼(Green and Human)' 등의 말도 어색하긴 마찬가지"라고 했다.

YONHAP picks up on my feelings that phrases like "Green and Human" are just plain awkward and cites a 51 year old English professor who backs me up:

   한국에서 11년을 산 동국대 외국어교육센터 루스 리들(51.여.영국) 강사는 "여대를 'Woman's University'로 적는 것과 비슷한 형태의 실수로 보인다"며 "한국적 표현으로 볼 수도 있지만, 원어민 개인 입장에선 아무래도 어색하게 들리는 게 사실"이라고 꼬집었다.

BTW for future reference my surname is spelt 람스덴 in when written in Korean. But I do like being refered to as a "New Zealand Blogger" hee hee!
