Google's Korea Zeitgeist for 2009
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:42 AM Each year Google puts out it's annual Zeitgeist. In recent years it has diversified to include lists of fastest growing and most popular searches, including our very own Korea. Here are the results.

One of the most searched for terms this year (unsurprisingly) was for Influenza.
here are the 10 faststest growing queries from google.co.kr:
- 글로벌 ERP (Global ERP - some sort of software)
- 꽃보다 남자 (Boys over Flowers - Silly Korean Edu-drama)
- 김아중 (Kim Ah Jung - Actress)
- 장자연 리스트 (Jang Ja Yeon "List" - Actress on afore mentioed Edu-drama killed herself early in the year apparntly leaving a list of some sort)
- 청담동 클럽 사진 (Cheongdam Club Pictures -A seemingly innocent night club in affluent Cheongdam was infact some sort of den of inequity with pics on the internet to prove it. liuckly no foreigners involved!)
- 신종 플루 (Influenza)
- 유이 (Yoo Lee - Actress / Singer)
- 빙 (Bing - Micosoft Search engine)
- 선덕 여왕 (Sun duk, Queen - no not that kind! rather a drama about a (Silla?) Queen)
- 레이디 가가 (Lady Gaga - Singer)
And the top 10 searches over all:
- 네이버 (Naver - Portal / Search Engine)
- 다음 (Daum - Portal / Search Engine)
- 싸이월드 (Cyworld - Korean Social Network)
- 야후 (Yahoo - Portal / Search Engine)
- 한게임 (HanGame - Game portal)
- 넷마블 (NetMarble - Game Portal)
- 옥션 (Auction - Korea's E-bay)
- youtube (Youtube)
- 아이온 (Ion - Online MMO)
- 야후꾸러기 (Yahoo for Kids)
Yet again the top searches prove people's (not just Koreans mind you, check out the other counties) inability to enter a simple URL like n-a-v-e-r-dot-com.
