In Which The Bimbo Likes a Bit of Argy-Bargy
Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11:11 PM As all to often happens, people like to comment on the stuff I write and do in places other than on The Chosun Bimbo.
Thus I point you to the comment thread over on The SeoulPodcast homepage for the "It's In The Karl" Episode where a few terse words have been exchanged over the long running (and increasingly boring) subject of ATEK vs AFEK (Or whatever it's called).
Good times!

This is Mike the AFEK webmaster speaking here:
AFEK is a non-political social networking site for F-visa holders in Korea. Whilst a very small number of AFEK members are vocal in the ATEK debate, they only account for around 10% of the total members. The majority are fence sitters, and there are a few pro-ATEK people who belong to AFEK.
A lot of people are taking my opposition of ATEK to mean that we are all are anti-ATEK. We are not. AFEK is not about teaching. It is not about politics. It is about making long-term friends who will outlive the majority of out E-2 holding buddies.
I understand why people are confused, and that clarification is in order. Hopefully, the ATEK fuss will die down soon and I can disappear back down my hole and the difference will become evident.
