Stabby Update
Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:34 PM You will recall the non-fatal stabbing inflicted upon a Japanese teacher at Avondale High School in Auckland in March of this year.
Six months later, the Korean exchange student accused of stabbing his teacher, Dave Warren, has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 18 months Jail for the assault.
injuring his schoolteacher after he admitted stabbing him in the classroom in March has been sentenced to 18 months jail.
Tae Won Chung, 17, in May pleaded guilty to a charge of injuring with intent after admitting he stabbed Avondale College teacher Dave Warren. Mr Warren, 49, was stabbed in the back during a lesson.
At the time it was speculated that the teacher, known for goading his students from time to time, might have said something that bruised the Korean student's sensitive sense of National pride. (He was after all taking a Japanese Class).
It has come to light that this may well have been the case and that the teacher may have
made comments to Chung [The student]about possible conscription to the Korean Army and about a possibility of North Korea attacking South Korea.
and that
this left Chung "festering" with anger and he took a knife with him to school the next day.
Hell hath no fury like a Korean impugned?

Kiwis and Canadians take a lot of ribbing. We don't go around stabbing people. Yeah, Koreans are going to need a thick skin if they want to be players on the international stage.
This guy was bound to stab someone at some point in his life even if that teacher didn't "provoke" him. All it takes to set a guy like that off is a yo mama's so fat joke.
