Embassy Mail Bag: What About North Korea? Edition

From Jeff Matthews, Consul, to all New Zealanders in Korea:

You are registered on www.safetravel.govt.nz  as being resident in, or visiting the Republic of Korea.  Although there has not been any change to the travel advisory issued by the NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the recent increase in tensions between the DPRK and ROK has resulted in an increase in enquiries to the Embassy in Seoul  To assist in any situation, we require an up to date list of New Zealand citizens in Korea.  May we ask that you check and update your details that you have provided on www.safetravel.govt.nz

Could you also please tell any New Zeland citizens that have not registered to do so.

Thanks and regards,

Jeff Mathews

Nothing's going to happen. Business as usual, except for the free-falling KRW, which will recover.
