Embassy Mail Bag: I'm an Aussie Too Edition
Friday, May 28, 2010 at 6:11 PM From Leo Zeng, Second Secretary and Vice-Consul:
The Australian Government's Travel Advice for the Republic of Korea (South Korea) was updated on Friday 28 May 2010.
See http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/South_Korea
The level of the advice has not changed and remains at ‘Be alert to your own security’. The travel advice includes information on threats made by the DPRK after an international investigation concluded that the DPRK had been responsible for the sinking of a ROK Navy corvette, the Cheonan.
Australians in the ROK are advised to monitor developments closely, including on the Smartraveller website, because of the risk that tensions on the Korean Peninsula could escalate with little warning.
Australians in the ROK should register through the www.smartraveller.gov.au website and subscribe to the travel advice in order to receive automatic notification of any changes.
Yours sincerely
Leo Zeng
You've been warned, mate.
