It's the Rainy Season...Amongst Other Things
Monday, July 16, 2012 at 12:03 AM I went for the walk in the pissing rain this evening just because I felt house-bound and needed to get out. (And the fact that I'm not smoking in the house these days).
In recent years the rainy season here in Korea has brought with it a strange sense of nostalgia. I don't know why. I arrived her, fresh faced almost 9 years ago in the depths of an extended winter (like something out of Game of Thrones, "Winter is coming!") and have no recollection of what I did last year, let alone in the years previous, during the rainy season.
It must be all the staring out the window in anxious hope that it is going to stop and I can go outside and play again.
At least it's been a little cooler this week with all the rain....
I have finally found a theme that I like for my blog. Lots of white space, the links are black again, but bold and underlined for those readers not blessed with retina displays (or retinas), and I have gone back to one of my fairly old headers (you can tell it's old because the dude is holding an original iPad! OMG! So 2010!)
Does this mean I might get back to some regular blogging? Well I am not going to count chickens or make promises - the fact that I didn't post anything in either April or June, and have made a total of 34 posts all year (compare that to March 2012) and you might see that this "blogging" is getting a bit long in the tooth.
That being said I always hold out hope - Next semester at school is shaping up to be one free from a lot of the stresses that have plagued me for the last two years, so there might just be some time to get back to pounding the keyboard.
Plus, I am going to China next week, so at the very least there will be some photos of all that. Off to Qindao, ostensibly to sit on the beach and drink the eponymous beer. (Although is something eponymous if it is spelt differently? Stupid Anglicisation).
(By the way Anglicisation is spelt with an s, not a z. cf. Americanization).
I don't even think I mentioned the fact that in April I moved to Itaewon. That demands a post in and of itself.
But don't expect anything much this week. Its the last week of semester and I have a lot of work to do...
Do expect to find me on the radio on Tuesday and to post another bunch of mp3s.
