Immigration Tales: Aaaargh Bollocks!

I learnt a couple of important lessons today:

1) Immigration cannot be beaten
2) Verify your information
3) Immigration can show compassion - albeit in a snide or perhaps sarcastic manner.

Despite my pleading I had to cop a ₩700,000 fine from Immigration for not reporting an additional place of work. Despite the fact that all the information I gained saying that what I was doing was legit. One should verify info gathered on immi-issues, even if (especially if) said information comes from the immigration help line...

I was in line for a cool million but the rather jovial immigration investigator was reasonably sympathetic to my case and gave me a 30% discount on the fine. He also chided me for not learning more Korean since I have been here since 2003. I forget that Immigration knows all...

And on top of that, no E6 visa (which you can apparently have at the same time as an E2) until I pay the fine.

AAAAND I'm gonna have to pay it tomorrow before I leave the country for five days.

Just as well China was paid for in advance...

AAAAAAAAAGHHH!

Its all my own fault of course, had I gotten off my fat arse and done this a week ago there wouldn't have been a problem. So ever so slightly annoyed at myself too!

Still its only money, a little less spending money for my holiday but things could be worse. At least I didn't get detained in Daejeon, and there's still plenty of time to organise my visa....

This month is gonna be a bit tight so expect posts in lieu of paid entertainment options.
